Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
Network Manager 0.8.1 provides Bluetooth dial-up networking (necessary with many phones - the only way to do it without NM 0.8.1 is to manually bind an RFCOMM device, change permissions on pppd and use gnome-ppp, which is complete black magic for a non-expert), 3G signal strength reporting, IPv6 DHCP, and command line interface. Bluetooth DUN is probably the most important one. The previous request was rejected on a technicality (requesting a sync instead of a merge): bug 614778. So here I'm requesting a merge, since the new features are what's important. debian/changelog : network-manager (0.8.1-1) unstable; urgency=low * New upstream release. (Closes: #590139) * debian/patches/30-fix_paths_for_isc_dhcp_v4.patch - Remove, merged upstream. * Build against ppp 2.4.5. (Closes: #589791) - Bump Build-Depends on ppp to (>= 2.4.5). - Bump Recommends on ppp to (>= 2.4.5). - Drop --with-pppd-plugin-dir configure option and use upstream default. * debian/network-manager.postrm - Clean up /var/lib/NetworkManager on purge. (Closes: #584854) * debian/control - Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.1. No further changes. -- Michael Biebl <bi...@debian.org> Tue, 27 Jul 2010 02:26:59 +0200 ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Please merge network-manager 0.8.1 from debian sid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615402 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
