Looks like this has been a long term problem for quite some time. Since about 2003 it would appear..

Some evidence points at faults in the Xorg system relating to the keyboard driver. Some points at ACPI implementations of battery, thermal and ac modules. I think it's mainly related to laptops. I don't think this is going away any time soon - which is a pity because laptops seem to be the big seller at the moment. How do we get the priority of this raised? On an up note, I issued: sudo modprobe thermal on my machine an hour ago and I've not encountered this problem since. I wonder if this is a fix that might return after a reboot.. I will test and report back. ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #9448 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9448 ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #9147 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9147 -- random key repetition on laptop Gigabyte M1405 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/602509 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
