I thought maybe the bug had gone away due to some other fix.
I tried using cheese to record video, and successfully recorded a video, but
it had no sound. I went to System->Preferences->Sound and found that the system
had arbitrarily switched my sound input from my Microsoft Lifecam Cinema to the
ATI HDTV Wonder card in my system. I switched it back to the web cam and tried
to record a video with Cheese. Cheese hung when I started recording video.
A few times back and fourth proved to me that when my audio input device is the
Microsoft Lifecam Cinema, Cheese will hang. If the audio input device is the
ATI HDTV Wonder, I get video but no sound.
