Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pm-utils
Hello,
after I trigger suspend or hibernate from menu, display goes off and LED starts
blinking (indicate suspend/hibernate in progress) as usually, but this LED will
not stop and system remains frozen. Because fan starts in a while, it must be
some CPU operations there which locks the OS, because nothing (any key
combination) brings the system to live again - so only way is hard stop with
power button.
After reboot ext3 needs to repair orphan inodes and also after gnome
login, networking is disabled (in network-manager).
Same thing will happen with hibernate (but this never worked good for me -
since my first ubuntu 7.04).
Suspend worked fine in most of previous versions of ubuntu (I never
reinstalled, only upgraded).
I tried some things (newer kernel from ppa - 2.6.34 and .35, add
nomodeset parameter to kernel, changes in /etc/default/acpi-config,
uswsusp) but with no luck.
I attach pm-suspend.log which however seems ok. If needed more, tell me.
