Although this bug is still an issue in the current Ubuntu 10.04, I don't know if it should be reopened, because it seems that XD cards as proprietary format are only detected and probably there is no driver allowing to mount those cards? Anyway the problem can be easily avoided by using USB cable to connect the camera instead of "Multimedia Card Reader".
