Well:

I'm using Ubuntu lucid - fresh install

The default font color for documents in openoffice.org writer seems to
depend on the

system->preferences->appearance->["custom theme"
selected]->customize...->colors>input boxes

setting.

I reset that to the default value now though because /input boxes/
(well... imho, on first thought at leaset) are defenetly something
different than the openoffice.org writer's document area (where, ok,
text is /input/, but it's not really a /box/).

To set the font to black in openoffice.org, i went, in openoffice.org
writer, to

tools->options->openoffice.org->appearance->font color

and changed "automatic" into "black".

But I think this should either be the default or "automatic" should not
pick "input box" but something that is by default black and relates
better.
