I just ran into the same problem on lucid, did this "scaling down" patch
get committed?

$ apt-cache policy graphviz
graphviz:
  Installed: 2.20.2-8ubuntu3
  Candidate: 2.20.2-8ubuntu3

and the command I tried was:

$ dot /tmp/Kprof_wGODqVQh/graphViz_temp -Tjpg -o test.jpg
dot: width (39677 >= 32768) is too large.
[1]    32401 segmentation fault  dot /tmp/Kprof_wGODqVQh/graphViz_temp -Tjpg -o
test.jpg
