Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: barry-util
i have a blackberry 8130 pearl with a microsd card in it, and i've
always been able to connect the blackberry and have the microsd volume
show up in nautilus as usual. after installing barry-utils, mass storage
stopped loading up for the blackberry. at first i thought it was the
blackberry getting old, since this wasn't the blackberry's only "issue",
but on further investigation, i found it was because the udev rule
/etc/udev/rules.d/10-blackberry.rules (belonging to barry-util) was
invoking bcharge, which in turn reset the usb connection once run
(according to syslog), and the usb_storage module didn't have the chance
to kick in. ironically, my blackberry doesn't have any trouble asking
for the higher current, making bcharge unnecessary.
i moved the udev rule out of the rules.d dir and voila, mass storage
starts working for the blackberry again. my blackberry's usb id is
0fca:8004. here is the syslog output when the rule is in place and the
blackberry is connected:
