I think it will be touch to provide a compelling user experience with
all the syntax details etc by providing users a general form field to
add new providers.
Those that understand the syntax can probably hand edit .ini files
anyway.
However, what I envision is a plugin model that allows users to install
new providers from the net. for that we might need a new content type or
something that then could be hooked up with a desktop-webmail provider
installer.
Then community could manual craft these plugins and submit them to a
central place like the desktop-webmail maintaer.
