Following the instructions of this blog post I could enable the brightness keys in a Samsung Q320 and a R430 (R528 may be a similar case):
http://www.doof.me.uk/2010/02/20/samsung-q320-fn-keys-in-linux-2-6-32/ Basically, you have to edit your /etc/rc.local file and add these lines before the "exit 0" line: echo 130-132,134,136,137,179,247,249 \ > /sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio0/force_release setkeycodes e008 225 e009 224 Then reboot, then Xorg will recognize the keys and you can use your favorite tool to manage screen brightness. -- Hotkeys Not working on Samsung R528 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/524789 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
