The kernel itself is really stable although there's a new release every 2-3 months. I tried to install many different Linux kernel, because I first thought that the error is a kernel problem but than I figured out that the problem is Ubuntu specific. I used another partition to install Debian Lenny on it. Then I installed a self compiled kernel from kernel.org to install it on Lucid and Lenny. As it seemed to work properly with Lenny and while the same error occurred with Lucid I knew that the problem is at Lucid. This week after checking for new updates I found and update for acpi-support. That made me watching more. After reading the changelog <https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/acpi-support/0.136.1> and I thought that this may also fix my problem. So I downloaded the source and tried to add those pieces of code which were added to /etc/acpi/power.sh. To ensure that the new pieces of code will be used, I restarted the system and tried to plug in the battery an plug of the AC/DC-Adapter. The system did like it did before. Now, after installing the whole update I try again and will post this here.
