Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rosegarden
Rosegarden starts jack automatically, but this prevents being able to use alsa synths such as timidity with rosegarden. In previous versions of rosegarden, it wasn't started automatically, but in version 1.7.3 upwards it starts jack automatically. It shouldn't do this: if you want jack then you can start it manually, or at least there should be an option in the settings to determine whether jack starts automatically or not. If you try and kill jack when rosegarden is running rosegarden will just restart it: you have to trick rosegarden into not starting jack in order to use timidity or another alsa synth. ** Affects: rosegarden (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: rosegarden (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: rosegarden (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- Rosegarden Starts Jack Automatically Preventing Alsa Playback https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
