Booklet printing would be a very nice feature! It is available in Adobe Reader (also for Linux).
Internally, it's but "2 pages per side" and "flip short edge", with a correct list of pages For an 8 pages document, the "pages" list would be "8,1,2,7,6,3,4,5" Thus, it would be able to do it manually, if it would be possible to include "white" pages in the "pages" field of the print dialog.
