Looks like the power off failure for 2.6.20-12-generic was a one off, it has been working flawlessly since. I reinstalled the 2.6.20-12-386 kernel and it won't power off, attaching the relevant section of /var/log/messages messages.txt covers: 1) Booting 2.6.20-12-386 2) Shutdown from GDM menu 3) System does normal shutdown but doesn't power off 4) Hit reset button 5) Booting 2.6.20-12-386
I haven't looked into the BIOS update, but if it works in the generic kernel it should work in 386, right? ** Attachment added: "386 messages.txt" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7039667/messages.txt -- Computer doesn't power off after shutdown (Feisty) https://launchpad.net/bugs/96236 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
