Not quite sure anymore what's going on but I have constant trouble with the
radon cards (currently HD4670) and Ubuntu. Sometime its fixed but then with
the next update things go astray again. I keep changing between proprietary
amd/radon drivers and Ubuntu drivers. Sometimes the one works, sometimes the
other, sometimes neither. fglrx seems to provide varying obstacles, broken
packages and so forth. I have two monitors and would like to use them in
portrait mode (turned left) with an extended desktop. As mentioned its worked
several times before. In Ubuntu 10.4 it worked even with the standards xorg
drivers until the update manager recently got the better of it - again. It is
very discouraging that once painstakingly fixed it always brakes again.
I am aware that this description is not very helpful but then again the
problems are varying and manifold.
