Firstly we need to eliminate some possible problems. I have some things I'd like you to try:
1. It maybe that the disks you have aren't compatible with your drive. 1a. Try some other DVDs (differently branded blanks and pre-records) 2. This could be a regression issue. 2a. I am in the process of testing a script which will build a bootable USB drive. The drive will contain 4 *.iso files; Hardy, Karmic, Lucid and Maverick. All you have to do it run the script (I'll tell you how when it's complete) and boot your desktop with it. You can then find out where the issue occurred. I suggest that if the disk it not visible in any of the distros, then it may be the case that your DVD-RW drive is not compatible with the disks you're trying to use [ref 1/1a]. I suggest 1/1a would be your best option to start with. Try to find out exactly what your DVD-RW can and can't read. If you can do this and get back to me as soon as possible, we can start to resolve the issue. -- Blank DVD does not get detected / cannot burn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/613214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
