Excuse the delay of my answer. But the hardware of my parallel to usb
adapter stopped to work and printing was impossible even from anoter
system (Windows), with tat it worked correctly before. Thus, I bought a
new adapter from another company (Digitus Centronics to USB, Which works
correctly out of the box. Thus it is no more necessary, to find out,
what causes the present bug. As the pevious printer adapter (with a
PL2305 chip) with which it was caused, is defecct now, I too cannot
supply the error log, which you desired.

I think, you should close this record. 
I beg your pardon for it.
 
(My wife, however, is happy and can print easily her Thai newspapers from the 
internet, as she could before. I hope, we stiii can do with the next Ubuntu 
release and without new hardware)
