Hi, after checking the link you provided I see that you compiled the alsa driver to solve the problem with you Mic. If you updated your kernel (which I suspect you did with the automatic updates) it could be the cause your sound to break.
Can you please try this: - When Grub shows up select the previous version of the Kernel (3rd entry in Grub Menu).
