Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libxine-main1

Since the security update USN-435-1 for libxine-main1 to version
1.1.1+ubuntu2-7.7, I get occasional sound distortions when playing
mp3-encoded media files, or from some avi files for which I don't know
the type of sound encoding used. Media player apps are Amarok and
Kaffeine from current Dapper amd64.

It's best reproducible when one uses the media player app's search bar
to "wildly" jump through the media file's content, but also happens
occasionally when just playing the files conventionally.

I reverted back to the vulnerable libxine-main1 1.1.1+ubuntu2-7 and set
1.1.1+ubuntu2-7.7 to forbid-version, now having proper sound playback
without any distortions again.

Would be nice if someone could check libxine-main1 1.1.1+ubuntu2-7.7 for
regression.
