That would lead to inconsistency from the rest of the map, the rest of
the map would show city names and not timezones, while US alone shows
timezones. This would be a bad design and would be a 'wont fix'.

However, the map has become a little simpler with the latest installer 
improvements in Maverick, we are not forced to select precise city/town and 
there is no drop-down. 
We have a text entry field and can enter the city names. Which is an 
improvement. Marking the bug as fixed.

However, if the timezones are to be implemented, it is not an easy
change and it needs to be done for the whole map and not US zones alone.
Kindly file a separate bug regarding that.
