The current positioning of icons is deliberate; it makes clearer which
checkmark items or radio items are checked (by removing clutter from
that column), and it allows future checkmark or radio items to also have
icons if appropriate.
When only those items that should have icons, have icons, they naturally
group together so that they do not look ragged. In this screenshot, none
of the items that have icons should.
There are two possibilities here:
* A bug like bug 621258 is causing items that would not normally have icons to
have them.
* The program is forcing display of icons for items that should not normally
have them. Can you tell us what program this is? Thanks.
