I have downloaded the alpha 3 release of Ubuntu 10.10 (the desktop 64bit one). Using a live CD I managed to download xsane. I scanned a document with colour settings and I attach for you the result as "colour scanning". I also tried to scan in black white mode and saved the result in a file. Unfortunately I cannot attach a second file. Though I saved the result in my computer (on the hard disk). The black white result does not differ very much from the colour one.
Thank you for your attention to me and your interest.
