I have the same problem as the original poster with a Canon Powershot A410. According to the output of the ps command, digikam is invoked with the command line 'digikam --download-from media:/camera', but it complains that it is unable to open '/camera', like in the first attached screenshot (but in English :). I presume that it is not processing its command line options correctly, or that that option is getting mangled at some point during processing. For the record, 'media:/camera' opens correctly in Konqueror if I close digikam first.
