Of course, it has also plenty of bugs (and I mentioned that) - e.g. my favorite Excel-bug is: It can't handle negative times. Guess, in my room sits somebody printing out xls sheets with working hours and calculating extra hours sum by hand! But anyway, IMHO Linux/Ubuntu have the better architecture as the big plus - and THE COMMUNITY! By accident I dived more into contribution that I could ever have done with Microsoft. There you need to know particular people and so on. - Years back I tried to help out with bug reports and even calling them (local support hotlines) - yes I was naive. I think that Ubuntu is better overall quality but the point I wanted to make is: Plenty of people are sticking with Windows for plenty good reasons. Just to give an example: Somebody not knowing much of computers can buy yet another hardware gadget without the need to worry about compatibility with the OS. Everywhere is written if Windows 7 compatibility is given - but quite nobody writes "Linux-compatible" even if the compatibility is given. Please don't focus on this now - it is just one example. I myself invest the more time in finding a compatible gadget for the sake of other advantages, but other people are not willing to search the internet for known issues with a thing they want to buy. -- Martin Wildam http://www.google.com/profiles/mwildam -- Microsoft has a majority market share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
