Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

Sound looked like it may have been having trouble. I started Amarok and
kopete and amarok both started to hang. I looked and saw that I had
some stale gxine and kmplayer processes still running. I killed those
and then my keyboard locked up. I suspect that this is related to my
retarded-ass ATI-IXP sound card driver. It used to do this all the time
on 2.6.17 Linux where it'd hang up and only pointer input would work.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance than that.
