I have an ASUS X83VB-X2 notebook, which has the Intel 5100 AGN wifi adapter built-in. Ubuntu 10.04 live CD runs but when it tries to connect to my wireless router, the computer hangs and I have to reboot with 4-second power-off. Ctrl-Alt-Bksp and Ctrl-Alt-Del don't even interrupt the hang. I haven't gone further with this bug. My router works fine with 10.04 on a different computer with a different wifi adapter, and my ASUS works fine wirelessly on Vista-64. I don't have time to play with this problem. Just wanted to let you know it affects this notebook computer, too.
