The Most Used and Installed groups come from Zeitgeist and S-C
respectively. Until very recently I saved a good deal of IO not looking
up the .desktop files for stuff where I could get the info I needed
straight from S-Cs index.

However that changed (with the introduction of a cache for the parsed
.desktop files) and we are now consistent between Most Used and
Installed. The Available group still uses Name, which I guess is the
right choice as you highlight.

It means that we have a bit of a broken UX when installing an app from
the Available group though. I click Available -> gEdit and install it
via S-C, after that GEdit shows up under Installed as "Text Editor"...
There is no easy fix as far as I can see though... Perhaps with the
highlighting of new apps as you requested it's helped out a bit.
