Thanks for following up.  I'm not sure if this is a design feature or a
bug.  I believe the issue still exists.  The problem, as I see it, is
that when I click on the close button in Pidgin, the program continues
running, even though I want to stop the program entirely.  I believe in
the far past, if the system tray icon was not shown then when you
clicked on the close button the entire program would also stop running.
Now it seems to keep running hidden in the Indicator Applet.  The way
around this is to select "Quit" from the "Buddies" menu list.  Let me
know if any of this is not clear.  Thanks for your effort.
