I just checked, and unfortunately sid does not have a later update as
yet either.  So actually this cannot be done as a pure "sync request"
(from Debian), but rather I think would have to be submitted as a new
upstream update, which means a new ubuntu package has to be built (can
of course be based on the existing debian packaging, but would be
something like syncevolution-1.0-0ubuntu1), and a debdiff created from
the current package in the archive to the new one.  Once done this can
then be uploaded and submitted for sponsorship.
