The logs also had a traceback due to
DebconfInstallProgress.updateInterface not existing. Mario fixed this
in ubiquity 2.3.4 (changelog entry "Correct a few more deprecated apt
calls."), and I can no longer reproduce this bug, so it looks like that
fixed this bug as a side-effect. That kind of makes sense.
