*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 71560 ***

Public bug reported:

When firefox-bin crashed with a >100M working set, apport opened and
analyzed the crash. Until I submitted it or closed it, apport used
>300M in the VIRT column of top and >80M in the RES column of top.

This was a lot of RAM, and my system slowed to a crawl.

Can I suggest that whatever it's storing in RAM get instead stored in a
temporary file (assuming such disk space is available)? That would be
tremendously helpful and would make me more willing to file reports that
apport generates.
