Binary package hint: apt

When I ran APT the last time successfully, the command hung at
"Unpacking". I made the mistake of killing it, and so I decided to rm
the /var/lib/dpkg/lock file and run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a'. I now
definitely think that it might be an infinite loop causing the problem,
as it hangs without consuming any CPU.
