I confirm the problem reported on the post with the same pathology.
I can save the file only using "save as" , "save" doesn't work as well
as the playback button.
I suggest to have an high priority for this bug if further confirmed. Generally
who wants to test a microphone uses a sound recorded program
(gnome-sound-recorded).
Without been able to playback the sound he could assume a problem on the driver
or on hardware.
