Hi, I did a fresh install (even a new user ...as I thought it had something to do with a user setting).
Amarok is installed by default. Also installed VLC via "sudo apt-get install vlc" ...no sound in VLC. Searched forums somewhat more... found a partial solution removed "vlc- plugin-pulse" (Which is installed by default.) Set in VLC to ALSO and set output to a specific device. Now it comes..... I have sound in VLC only I have to close (terminate Amarok) for this and vice versa. The strange thing is (when VLC is active) I can test my sound in Amarok (via configure Phonon) and I hear sound, but I have no sound when playing a song in Amarok.
