Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. There was an issue with the Feisty Beta CD and certain SATA
controllers. Please try a daily CD image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/
and let us know if that resolves your issue. Thanks in advance.
