This is not a bug in the ubuntu-docs package. I'll move the bug to gnome-screensaver as a starting point. ** Package changed: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) => gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) -- computer locks when entering screensaver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/623926 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. Status in “gnome-screensaver” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs release 9.10 The screensaver starts to function OK by fading the screen, once screen is fully black the keyboard or mouse will not bring the the PC out of screensaver mode. I.E. the PC is locked and needs reboot. The PC locks if you enter System>preferences>screensaver in the same manner. There is no way to disable default value of screensaver and reset to 'no screensaver' as a work round.
