Thank you for reporting this bug to help make Ubuntu better. For more
information to work with, could you please open a terminal (Applications
-> Accessories -> Terminal) and run the following command:
ooffice --writer > ~/openoffice_log
which will launch OpenOffice. Open a .doc file to repeat the problem,
than paste or upload the contents of the file /home/you/openoffice_log.
