Marc,

Be glad to assist. Here's the info I can provide, let me know if you
need more.

Dist: Ubuntu 10.04
Package: virt-manager 0.8.2-2ubuntu8
ProcVersionSignature: Linux version 2.6.32-24-generic (bui...@vernadsky) (gcc
version 4.4.3 (Ubuntu 4.4.3-4ubuntu5) )

Execute virt-manager from the command line as a regular user
Add a new connection with...
Hypervisor = QEMU/KVM
Connect = Remote tunnel over SSH
Hostname = usern...@hostname
Click the "Connect" button and enter the SSH key's passphrase

Once logged into the KVM host, do the following:

Click the "Create a new virtual machine" button in the menu
Specify a Name and select "Local install media"
Click the Forward button
Select an ISO image from one of the storage pool/volumes (I'm using a Ubuntu
10.04 Server ISO)
Specify OS type as Linux
Specify Version as Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx)
Click the Forward button
Keep default memory settings
Click the Forward button
Choose "Select managed or other existing storage" option
Click the Browse button, select a storage pool, and click the New Volume button
Name the new storage volume "testing" and use the defaults and click Finish
button
Select the newly created image "testing.img" from the list and click "Choose
Volume" button
Click the Forward button

At this point, you should receive the following error:

Input Error
Storage Parameter error.
Name "testing.img" already in use by another volume.

Interestingly, if you select the "Create a disk image on the computer's
hard drive" instead of using an existing storage location everything
works fine. It will store it in the default /var/lib/libvirt/images, but
then I have to do some editing to move it to the right storage location,
etc.

Let me now what other info I can provide to help.
