If I am not mistaken, you can not get the modeline resolution setting in
xorg.conf after you boot?
If you want to add one resolution in xorg.conf and use that in desktop, you
can try to rever the commit on
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-geode/commit/?id=e9447f5335681a78cf87ebf8c9659a6fecfc9746.
This patch works fine on OLPC, but unfortunely it blocks the modeline in
xorg.conf.
So please revert that commit at your local repository and give a try if you
can get the resolution you set in xorg.conf.
