Do
> sudo rm /usr/bin/python && sudo ln -s python<your-version-number> 
> /usr/bin/python
This should fix the problem. I don't think this is a bug in the Python package 
and it definitely is no bug in PackageKit. (Please change the bug status back 
if I'm wrong)
