Binary package hint: grub2
The normal install doesn't recognize correctly acpi and fan are not
managed. The system goes hot and dies.
Symptom:
the directory /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/ is empty
Correction:
in /etc/default/grub change the line
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT='quiet splash'
in
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT='quiet splash acpi_osi="Linux"'
execute sudo update-grub and reboot
Now the directory should be populated
