@dev I had this problem as well, when upgrading from linux-backports-modules-wwan-2.6.32-23-generic 2.6.32-23.17~wwan1 to linux-backports-modules-wwan-2.6.32-24-generic 2.6.32-24.18+wwan1
Looks like this issue could affect seamless upgrading of wwan package when kernel packages will be upgraded in the future.
