Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: bandwidthd
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx
Bandwidthd is always seen in the update manager and whenever i try to
download the package i get the following message - E:
/var/cache/apt/archives/bandwidthd_2.0.1+cvs20090917-3_i386.deb:
subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 2
Unable to install or upgrade the package. On attempting to remove package
through synaptic package manager I get the message that the package is in a bad
inconsistent state and hence need to be reinstalled. Since I am not able to
reinstall it I am caught in a vicious circle. Though i do not miss anything due
to bug in the package. I am not able to download VLC media player as it seems
to be dependent on Bandwithd.
I am also attaching the term.log file. I am doing so as I had come
across in some forum,
