Can you also try to use your printer with the SpliX driver? Perhaps this
driver gives better quality.
If you use the printer with drivers of foo2... series (foo2zjs package)
run the command
sudo getweb 6110
in a terminal window to download the printer's color profiles. This
often improves the print quality, too.
