So, I think there may be two separate issues here: 1) X started on the wrong tty, resulting in getty eventually timing out and resetting the tty input, manifests as “X crashes when pressing enter after 5 minutes or so”. 2) X started on the correct tty, but with incorrect input settings, manifests as “X crashes as soon as I press enter or 2 in gdm”. In this case, tty7 has some plymouth garbage text on it, including some “\▉”.
dino99 & Jamie Krug seem to have bug (1). Bilal & I have bug (2). I think this bug should continue to be a discussion of bug (1), where X starts on the wrong tty and then gets killed after a timeout. Further work on bug (2) can continue on bug #626723. ** Summary changed: - Pressing Enter crashes both X and plymouth in graphical mode + X starts on wrong tty: pressing enter after 5 minutes crashes X -- X starts on wrong tty: pressing enter after 5 minutes crashes X https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625239 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
