Binary package hint: scons
Running a simple empty SConstruct file with scons leads to:
/usr/bin/scons:169: UserWarning: Unbuilt egg for setuptools [unknown version]
(/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages)
d = pkg_resources.get_distribution('scons')
Which probably indicates a problem with the scons package.
Full way to reproduce the problem:
$ touch SConstruct
$ scons
/usr/bin/scons:169: UserWarning: Unbuilt egg for setuptools [unknown version]
(/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages)
d = pkg_resources.get_distribution('scons')
scons: Reading SConscript files ...
scons: done reading SConscript files.
scons: Building targets ...
scons: `.' is up to date.
scons: done building targets.
$
