@ Lonnie, What do you mean by "doesn't work at all". Do you get the same error message as reported by the original reporter? If not, please fill a separate bug report.
By the way, the settings are not supposed to propagate to the advanced window (although that would be a great feature request). Do you get any terminal screen pop-up? If no, what is the setting in the menu "Edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Linux" tab -> "Terminal to run FFmeg" and "Terminal Options"?
