Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
After some time after starting my computer, my microphone doesn't work. If I
restart the computer, the microphone works again until enough time has passed
(probably in the 15 minute range, but I've never tried to keep track). I can
also make the microphone start working again by running sudo killall
pulseaudio, which does the same thing as a restart.
(Normally, I would expect the microphone to consistently work.)
