Hmm I prefer to stay with aptitude, so this should work:
$ sudo aptitude install <pkgname>=<version>
and perhaps
$ sudo aptitude hold <pkgname>
So, now I need to know the package name and source, since I presume the
required package comes out of the lucid repos.
Currently,
$ aptitude versions gdm
i 2.30.5-0ubuntu2 maverick
500
--
