I can confirm that this does NOT happen when you 2 displays working simultaneously, e.g. external display attached to HDMI working as primary display and laptop internal display working as secundary (extended) display.
However as soon as you de-attach external display, internal laptop display starts to flickers on random basis. What seems to make flicker more intensive is if you open terminal in full screen (black background color).
